			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There was a time when the world was rich with literature. Words flowed from the minds of writers and could make a huge impact on the reader. Now except few authors we find that not many are getting new books sold in quantity. What will the upsurge in usage of Twitter do to the already dismal scene? </p>
<p>Remember when blogging was popular? There were many who used to blog with lengthy posts and had readers who read these blogs. Some still survive, but many have turned to twitter. Technology is taking a toll over writing. The number of words that one may write is now limited. No body has time to calmly read a lengthy post and enjoy the play of words. Everybody is in rush. That is one reason of the great success of twitter. It would not have done so well a decade ago when we were still interested in slow work. Now we are all in hurry. Mails are getting shorter, exchanges are taking the route of mobile phones and everybody wants to reach somewhere as quickly as possible. Twitter helps all of us doing that. </p>
<p>Can you think of a great author for example Bernard Shaw or Shakespeare writing on twitter? Imagine the compositions that would have resulted! To write and to enjoy reading one needs plenty of time. I remember looking at drafts of a book by PG Wodehouse. The author went back and corrected himself many times. A computer connected to Internet that demands quick response will not help us in such writings. it is Twittering bow. People are telling how they are enjoying a cup of coffee or how they loved a movie and so on. Number of words that are limited will obviously threaten one who is thinking of sharing something lengthy that he/she wrote. Will Twitter Kill Literature?</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The worlds most famous speed reading course is Reading Dynamics developed by Evelyn Wood. Its famous for teaching people to read faster, or speed reading as she called it. Her live course was the first known course that taught students to read faster and it started with about 25 hours of training to double the reading speed. </p>
<p>Over time the system was made available all over the world. These well practiced techniques teach students to read more rapidly, and also comprehend more of what they are reading. These techniques have proven to be repeatedly effective with all ages in many countries around the world.</p>
<p>There are many stories about how Evelyn Wood first learned speed read. My personal favorite was that she, as a child, was fishing at a nearby lake in Utah where she was living. To Evelyn, fishing was a relaxing necessity, but her mind was always active. </p>
<p>When fishing, she brought a book to read until she saw that the float on the fishing line was bobbing. Then shed reel in the fish. It was said that she read with the sun at her back for natural light, and used her index finger on her dominant hand to track under the words she were reading. </p>
<p>Every time when a fish bit, she just put down the book and started fishing again. That&#8217;s how it all started.</p>
<p>As she got older, she went to the University of Utah where one professor read and graded her 80-page research paper in about ten minutes. This came to 2,500 words per minute. He didn&#8217;t know how to tell his student what made is so he could read fast, nor how he developed his ability. He just read and could understand very quickly and efficiently.</p>
<p>Challenged by the potential to read that fast, Evelyn researched and studied fast readers to see if she could improve her reading speed and comprehension too. Then, she began to teach students herself, she figured out that it could be beneficial to them if she passed her skills on. </p>
<p>The desire to read faster and comprehend more is Universal. People all over the world were fascinated in, what turned out to be, Evelyn&#8217;s own techniques for speed reading and comprehension.  As she expanded her research and investigation of speed reading, she found people from different parts of the world reading from 1,500 to 6,000 words per minute. All had  an impressive level of comprehension proven by their knack for recalling specifics of the text. </p>
<p>She cataloged what each of them did to read faster and she discovered that each had their own traits and all of them had multiple traits in common with the others. These included:</p>
<p>1. Words were seen, and read, by groups.  2. Readers identified patterns and key words when they scanned text, quickly identifying the purpose and theme behind the writings. 3. Readers also sped up or slowed down with the simplicity or complexity of the reading materials. This permitted them control of levels of comprehension. </p>
<p>Based on this the Evelyn Wood program was created. Techniques were developed and tested. </p>
<p>In 1959, she was proficient and prepared enough to make a system that would teach others to speed read as well. Later that year, she opened the Evelyn Wood Reading Dynamics Institute in Washington DC. John F. Kennedy was the first president to have his White House staff trained by the Evelyn Wood method.</p>
<p>Today, the Evelyn Wood Reading Dynamics Institute no longer exists in the US. The rights were sold off to various publishers to market as courses, self-taught, and the remaining Evelyn Wood Reading Dynamics teachers have private instructional practices. Some teachers are still healthy enough in their mid 6os and 70s to still teach the original technique.</p>
<p>Today, the few remaining teachers have passed their secrets to others, who have put the courses online for you to study. Though, you might learn from itinerant speed reading instructors who often teach classes at community colleges, or private corporations throughout the US and beyond. In New Zealand, Australia, and Western Europe, some offices of the original Evelyn Wood Reading Dynamics have survived the creator who past on over 20 years ago.</p>
<p>Since the 1990s, courses became available in audio, video VCR, and later, DVD, adding a convenience that Evelyn could never have even dreamed of when she first taught. Faster reading with greater comprehension can be obtained by students around the world by using the system that Evelyn Wood invented while fishing one sunny day. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Not many people know of the Marketing Mix, or if they have heard of it, what it really means. Some think it&#8217;s all about the specials that they run in their business, or how many newspaper adverts they put it. Actually, it&#8217;s a combination of what is also commonly known as The 4 P&#8217;s.</p>
<p>Product, Price, Place and Promotion. In that order. Without one, the others fail. All 4 combined together will be 100% responsible for your promotion success. Let me go over them each and how they tie in together and you&#8217;ll start to see what I mean.</p>
<p><strong>Product.</strong></p>
<p>This refers to your physical product, or your service that you offer. Have you really looked at it? Pulled it apart and examined it from all angles? (And I don&#8217;t mean physically pull it apart!) What is so special about this product of yours? What are you really selling? For example, a hardware shop doesn&#8217;t sell drills; it sells holes in the walls. A hairdresser doesn&#8217;t sell haircuts, they sell confidence. Find your benefits and see if your product really delivers what you say it does. Once you know that the market wants your product, you can then go about pricing it.</p>
<p><strong>Pricing</strong></p>
<p>Many people get stuck on pricing of their products. The only time this should stump you is when you are introducing a brand new, individual, never been done before product or service into the market. Otherwise this is where your competition analysis comes into play. Who are your competitors? What products do they have that are similar to yours? Are the same type of people buying their products that you want to buy yours? Where do you fit into the marketplace? Are you going to come in cheaper than your competition?(A strategy that can never be sustained, I might add) or will you come with a different angle. This will help you to complete the pricing component of your marketing mix.</p>
<p><strong>Place</strong></p>
<p>This element refers to how people can buy your product. Do you have a retail shopfront? Can they purchase online? Do you have your own distributers? You will see that this section is critical to your marketing success. If people can only buy from your shopfront &#8211; what&#8217;s the point of advertising in a city ½ an hour away? Especially when your competitors are closer to them? By analysing this point carefully, you will discover that you can save precious marketing $$.</p>
<p><strong>Promotion</strong></p>
<p>This element is the part that people skip straight to. And funnily enough, if you haven&#8217;t done the above 3 points first, it&#8217;s useless! You are just throwing away all of your money and profits if you don&#8217;t know the answers to the above. Test yourself &#8211; get someone to ask you all of the above questions, try to overcome objections about your product. When you can passionately promote your product and overcome customers&#8217; objections without any hesitation then you are ready to move on to the promotion aspect.</p>
<p>As you may already know, there are boundless avenues to promote your business. From mainstream marketing such as newspapers and magazines, to free publicity via press releases, to online marketing and social web, there are plenty of strategies that will fit well with your marketing mix, and save you thousands of dollars on your business promotion.</p>
<p>Promoting your business via different strategies is something that should be taken into account on a personal basis. What works for one business doesn&#8217;t mean it will work for yours. That is why you need to create your own action plan, based on your own strategies for your business.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In today&#8217;s article I am going to explore the concepts of praise and criticism. Of the two it is often far easier to criticise than to praise. However, what is to be gained from criticism?</p>
<p>Nothing but resentment and a wounded pride, none of which will get someone to do as you want. More often than not the person criticised just gets defensive or as Dale Carnegie says, they will probably just justify him or herself and condemn you.</p>
<p>The net result is nothing gained just a prospect lost forever.</p>
<p>Take for example children. I am a mother of two children aged four and six. I find that I can get them to do as I want far easier by praise than by criticism. Sometimes it can be hard to praise when I am being pushed to my limits, however there is always something that I can find to praise while ignoring the transgressions.</p>
<p>l find that they will quickly forget the bad behaviour as that is not what is getting them attention. They quickly realise that it is their good behaviour that is gaining them the most attention which is ultimately what they crave.</p>
<p>Adults are just like children and long to be praised and not condemned. How can this be put to use with your online business opportunity?</p>
<p>Well, if you focus on what someone is doing correctly and praise them for this then they will more than likely concentrate on repeating the behaviour they have been praised for, thus allowing you to steer them towards actions that ultimately will be of advantage to your online business opportunity.</p>
<p> My father used to say &#8220;never take from any man his song&#8221;. His view was that everyone has something to say and contribute. You may not agree with everyone but that&#8217;s what makes us all unique and keeps life interesting. The secret to success is not in criticising another&#8217;s opinion but rather trying to understand it.</p>
<p>It is in understanding others that we best figure out how to get what we want from them. Also Dale Carnegie makes a very relevant point that I particularly like, &#8221;if you want to change someone, start with yourself&#8221;. None of us are perfect and we can all do with self-improvement. After all if we were perfect? what would we have left to strive for?</p>
